CI RIFIUTIAMO DI DIVENTARE
UNA FORZA DI
TERRORE E DI REPRESSIONE CONTRO LE MOBILITAZIONI;
APPOGGIAMO LA LOTTA
DEGLI STUDENTI DI SCUOLA/UNIVERSITA' E DEI LAVORATORI
Siamo dei
soldati da ogni parte della Grecia [è necessario qui osservare
che in
Grecia è ancora in vigore la coscrizione e che riguarda tutti i
greci
maschi; la maggior parte o forse anche tutte le persone che firmano
questo sono legati al popolo che al momento stanno servendo nel
servizio
militare obbligatorio - non reclute dell'esercito]. Soldati
ai quali, a
Hania, è stato ordinato di opporsi a studenti
universitari, lavoratori e
combattenti del movimento antimilitarista
portando le nostre armi
e poco tempo fa. [Soldati] che portano il
peso delle riforme e della
"preparazione" dell'esercito greco.
[Soldati che] vivono tutti i giorni
attraverso l'oppressione
ideologica del militarismo, del nazionalismo dello
sfruttamento non
retribuito e della sottomissione ai "[nostri] superiori".
Nei campi
dell'esercito [nei quali serviamo], sentiamo di un altro
"incidente
isolato": la morte, provocata dall'arma di un poliziotto, di un
quindicenne di nome Alexis. Sentiamo di lui negli slogan portati sopra
le
mura esterne del campo come un tuono lontano. Non sono stati
chiamati
incidenti anche la morte di tre nostri colleghi in agosto?
Non è stata
pure chiamata un incidente isolato la morte di ciascuno
dei 42 soldati che
sono morti negli ultimi tre anni e mezzo? Sentiamo
che Atene, Thessalonica
ed un sempre crescente numero di città in
Grecia sono diventate campi di
agitazione sociale, campi dove viene
recitato fino in fondo il risentimento
di migliaia di giovani, di
lavoratori e di disoccupati. Vestiti con
uniformi dell'esercito ed
"abbigliamento da lavoro", facendo la guardia al
campo o correndo per
commissioni, facendo i servitori dei "superiori", ci
troviamo ancora
lì [in quegli stessi campi]. Abbiamo vissuto, come
studenti
universitari, come lavoratori e come disperatamente disoccupati,
le
loro "pentole d'argilla", i "ritorni di fiamma accidentali", i
"proiettili deviati", la disperazione della precarietà, dello
sfruttamento, dei licenziamenti e dei procedimenti giudiziari.
Ascoltiamo i
mormorii e le insinuazioni degli ufficiali
dell'esercito, ascoltiamo le
minacce del governo, rese pubbliche,
sull'imposizione dello "stato
d'allarme". Sappiamo molto bene cosa
ciò significhi. Viviamo attraverso
l'intensificazione [del lavoro],
aumentate mansioni [dell'esercito],
condizioni estreme con un dito
sul grilletto. Ieri ci è stato ordinato di
stare attenti e di "tenere
gli occhi aperti".
Ci chiediamo: A CHI CI AVETE ORDINATO DI STARE
ATTENTI?
Oggi ci è stato ordinato di stare pronti ed in
allarme. Ci
chiediamo? VERSO CHI DOVREMMO STARE IN ALLARME?
Ci avete ordinato di
stare pronti a far osservare lo stato di ALLARME:
- Distribuzione di
armi cariche in certe unità dell'Attica [dove si trova
Atene]
accompagnata anche dall'ordine di usarle contro i civili se
minacciate. (per esempio, una unità dell'esercito a Menidi, vicino agli
attacchi contro la stazione di polizia di Zephiri)
- Distribuzione
di baionette ai soldati ad Evros [lungo la frontiera turca]
-
Infondere la paura nei dimostranti spostando i plotoni nell'area
periferica dei campi
dell'esercito
- Spostare per protezione i
veicoli della polizia nei campi
dell'esercito a Nayplio-Tripoli-
Korinthos
- Il "confronto" da parte del maggiore I. Konstantaros nel
campo di
addestramento per reclute di Thiva riguardo
l'identificazione di
soldati con negozianti la cui proprietà è
stata danneggiata
- Distribuzione di proiettili di plastica nel campo
di
addestramento per reclute di Corinto e l'ordine di sparare contro
i nostri
concittadini se si muovessero "minacciosamente" (nei
riguardi di chi???)
- Disporre una unità speciale alla statua del
"Milite ignoto" giusto di
fronte ai dimostranti sabato 13 dicembre
come pure mettere in posizione i
soldati del campo di addestramento
per reclute di Nayplio contro la
manifestazione dei lavoratori

Minacciare i cittadini con Unità Operazioni Speciali dalla Germania
e
dall'Italia - nel ruolo di un esercito di occupazione - rivelando
così il vero volto anti-lavoratori/autoritario della U.E.
La polizia
che spara prendendo a bersaglio le rivolte sociali
presenti e future.
E' per questo che preparano un esercito che assuma i
compiti di una
forza di polizia e la società ad accettare il ritorno
all'esercito
del totalitarismo riformato. Ci stanno preparando ad opporci
ai
nostri amici, ai nostri conoscenti ed ai nostri fratelli e sorelle. Ci
stanno preparando ad opporci ai nostri precedenti e futuri colleghi
al
lavoro ed a scuola. Questa sequenza di misure dimostra che la
leadership
dell'esercito, della polizia e l'approvazione di Hinofotis
(ex membro
dell'esercito professionale, attualmente vice ministro
degli interni,
responsabile per "agitazioni" interne), del QG
dell'esercito, dell'intero
governo, delle direttive della U.E., dei
negozianti-come-cittadini-infuriati e dei gruppi di estrema destra
mirano
ad utilizzare le forze armate come un esercito di occupazione
- non ci
chiamate "corpo di pace" quando ci mandate all'estero a fare
esattamente le
stesse cose? - nelle città dove siamo cresciuti, nei
quartieri e nelle
strade dove abbiamo camminato. La leadership
politica e militare dimentica
che siamo parte della stessa gioventù.
Dimenticano che siamo carne della
carne di una gioventù che sta di
fronte al deserto del reale all'interno
ed all'esterno dei campi
dell'esercito. Di una gioventù che è furibonda,
non sottomessa e,
ancora più importante, SENZA PAURA. SIAMO CIVILI IN
UNIFORME.
Non
accetteremo di diventare strumenti gratuiti della paura che
alcuni
cercano di instillare nella società come uno spaventapasseri. Non
accetteremo di diventare una forza di repressione e di terrore. Non ci
opporremo al popolo con il quale dividiamo quegli stessi timori,
bisogni e
desideri/lo stesso futuro comune, gli stessi pericoli e le
stesse speranze.
CI RIFIUTIAMO DI SCENDERE IN STRADA PER CONTO DI
QUALSIASI STATO D'ALLARME
CONTRO I NOSTRI FRATELLI E SORELLE. Come
gioventù in uniforme, esprimiamo
la nostra solidarietà al popolo che
lotta e urliamo che non diventeremo
delle pedine dello stato di
polizia e della repressione di stato. Non ci
opporremo mai al nostro
popolo. Non permetteremo nei corpi dell'esercito
l'imposizione di una
situazione che ricordi i "giorni del 1967" [quando
l'esercito greco
ha effettuato il suo ultimo colpo di stato].

Hundreds of soldiers from 42 army camps state: WE REFUSE TO BECOME A
FORCE OF TERROR & REPRESSION AGAINST THE MOBILIZATIONS; WE SUPPORT
THE
STRUGGLE OF SCHOOL/UNIVERSITY STUDENTS & THE WORKERS.
We are
soldiers from all over greece [it's necessary to not remark
here that
conscription is still active in greece & affects all males
greeks;
most or maybe even all of the people signing this are bound to
be
people who are serving their compulsory military service at the
moment - not army recruits]. Soldiers who, in Hania, were ordered to
stand against university students, workers & fighters of the
antimilitary movement carrying our guns & a short while ago.
[Soldiers] who are carrying the weight of reforms & of the "readiness"
of the greek army. [Soldiers who] live every day through the
ideological bullying of militarism, nationalism, unpaid exploitation &
of submission to "[our] superiors".
In the army camps [we're
serving at], we hear of another "isolated
incident": the death,
[caused] by a policeman's gun, of a 15-year-old
called Alexis. We
hear [of] it in slogans carrying over the camp's
outer walls like a
distant thunder. Weren't the deaths of three
colleagues of ours in
August also called isolated incidents? Wasn't
the death of each one
of the 42 soldiers who died in the last 3.5
years also called an
isolated incident?
We hear that Athens, Thessaloniki & an ever-
increasing number of
cities in greece become fields of social unrest,
fields where the
outrage of thousands of youths, workers & unemployed
is played out.
Dressed with army uniforms & "working attire",
guarding the camp or
running errands, [being] servants of the
"superiors", we still find
ourselves there [in those same fields]. We
lived, as university
students, workers & desperately unemployed, the
[ir] "claypots",
"accidental backfirings", "[bullet] deflections";
the desperation of
precarity, of exploitation, of lay-offs & of
prosecutions.
We hear whispers & insinuations from the army
officials, we heard the
government's threat, made public, about the
imposition of an "alarm
state." We know very well what this means. We
live it through
intensification [of work], increased [army] duties,
extreme conditions
with one finger on the trigger.
Yesterday we've
been ordered to be careful & "keep our eyes open".
We're asking: WHOM
DID YOU ORDER US TO BE CAREFUL OF?
Today, we've been ordered to be
ready & alert. We're asking? TOWARDS
WHOM SHOULD WE BE ALERT?
You
ordered us to be ready to impose a state of ALERT:
• Distribution of
loaded guns in certain units in Attiki [where Athens
is] even
accompanied by the order to be used against civilians if
they're
threatened. (e.g. an army unit in Menidi, close to the attacks
against the police station of Zephiri.)
• Distribution of bayonets
to soldiers in Evros [along the turkish border]
• Instilling fear to
protesters by moving platoon to peripheral army camps.
• Moving
police vehicles to army camps in Nayplio-Tripoli-Korinthos
for
safekeeping.
• The "dopping" by the Major I. Konstantaros in the
Thiva bootcamp
concering the identification of soldiers with the
storeowners whose
property is being damaged.
• Distribution of
plastic bullets in the Korinthos bootcamp & the
order to shoot
againts our fellow citizens if they move in
"threateningly" (with
respect to whom???)
• Positioning a special unit at the "Unknown
Soldier" [statue] right
across from the demonstrators on Saturday,
December 13, as well as
[positioning] the soldiers of the Nayplio
bootcamp against the
pan-workers demo.
• Threatening [the
citizens] with Special Operations Units from
Germany & Italy - in the
role of an Occupation Army - thus revealing
E.U.'s real, anti-
workers/authoritarian face.
Police shoots targeting the present &
future of social revolts. That's
why they're preparing the army tot
assume the duties of a police force
& the society to accept the
return to the army of the Reformers'
Totalitarianism. They're
preparing us to stand against our friends,
out acquaintances & our
brothers & sisters. They're preparing us to
stand against our former
& future colleagues at work & in school.
This sequence of measures
shows that the leadership of the army-the
police & the consent of
Hinofotis (former member of the professional
army, currently vice
minster of the Interior, responsible for interior
"unrest"), of the
General HQ of the Army, of the entire government, of
the E.U.
directives, of the store-owners-as-infuriated-citizens & of
the far-
right-wing groups aim at utilizing the Armed Forces as an
Occupation
Army - aren't you calling us "peace corps" when you send us
abroad to
do the exact same things? - in the cities where we grew up,
in the
neighborhoods & the roads where we walked.
The political & military
leadership forgets that we're part of that
same youth. THhey forget
that we're flesh from the flesh of a youth
which is confronted with
the desert of the real inside & outside army
camps. Of a youth that's
outraged, not subserviant; & most
importantly, FEARLESS.
WE'RE
UNIFORMED CIVILIANS.
We won't accept becoming complimentary tools of
fear which some
attempt to instill over society as a scarecrow.
We
won't accept becoming a force of repression & terror.
We won't stand
against people whom we share that same fears, needs &
desires/[the
same] common future, perils & hopes with.
WE REFUSE TO TAKE TO THE
STREETS ON BEHALF OF ANY STATE OF ALERT
AGAINST OUR BROTHERS &
SISTERS.
As a youth in uniform, we express our solidarity with the
people
who're fighting & we scream that we won't become pawns of the
police-state & of state repression. We'll never stand against our own
people. We won't allow the imposition of a situation in the army
corps
that will be bringing to mind "days of 1967" [when the greek
army had
his last coup d'etat].
